| John and Lorraine have this game to see who can turn faster. They count to 3 and fastest one to turn, wins. Simple, huh? I can't place a video of them doing this in this blog but I'm sure you know what I mean. If you don't I'll get them to do it for you. Its funny to watch them cos i'm like that. I like to be able to see both whats behind me as well as what's in front of me. I like to be in the midst of what's happening. Its like stepping into a river of adrenalin. Gives me a boost. But after the rush of adrenalin, your body gets drained. Its the same in church. Only things is when you get involved in so many activities, your family gets drained. I know my husband does. Just watching me, he gets tired and cranky. My children get sensitive and jump at every suspicion that I'm irritated. Guess its time to feed them loads of the TLC (tender loving care) vitamin. Here's some pictures of the family when I feed the TLC thingy. Works!

| Have you checked out the WRPF Forum page? Erik has posted wonderful pictures of our 35th Anniversary! Its a slide show and, my gosh, I feel I should go right out and start taking pictures. Hmm, first, will have to go and buy a camera - ours went kaputt just before we left for Myanmar... http://www.wrpf.org.sg/forum/2 | | |
| Hiya, We're back. Been back for a week now. Won't write too much as we've all posted our thoughts / feelins on church web. Pics are also there so come on and visit us at: www.wrpf.org.sg. Alternatively, you can go directly to the photo gallery and browse for Tapestry 1, Myanmar 2007 - http://www.wrpf.org.sg/fgallery/18 We used "Tapestry" cos we couldn't think anymore at the time we were planning this trip. Quite brain dead and it was just at that time that our youths were taking part in Singapore's Tapestry shindigs. But the name fitted the whole mission beautifully. we're now watching out for a wonderful tapestry of different Myanmar churches working together to create a Children's ministry in Myanmar! | | |
| Needed a closure for Drained I was looking out for God. You saw Him? We saw Him. Willing hearts. We asked for willing hearts when we opened up the decision for children to come up and honour God with their participation. (and hello, I didn't twist John's arm to join the group) I was quite worried when I saw 5 P6 girls come up. Not only are these girls at the age when they normally shy away from the limelight - I've actually seen them shrink when the lights hit them... but they are also tied down by exams (PSLE prelims) just at the times when we have the various rehearsals. But hey, I said it so many times, I'm not going to be the one to go back on my words - God is only interested in willing hearts and these were willing hearts. We'll take them as they come. We'll let God deal with the parents. Ah, the younger ones. These are as some say not the "easy" ones. Even holding a wriggling worm is easy than asking them to stand still...and John, sigh, he's all live and energy all right when practising but put him in front of an audience and his energy becomes 'zilch', reduced to an indifferent level in order that he will be unnoticed on stage... But their hearts were in their hands as they lifted them up. Did you see them? Seems like some saw the offered hearts. At the end of the whole celebration, some other young ladies came over to me and committed themselves to "work" for GNK - wow! never had that happen before... Tommy (parents from DFF) came up to me and said not to worry, he would teach John to listen and obey and sing! Erm, if you haven't met Tommy, pls do come to GNK and you will undersatnd how shocked I was! This child telling me he was going to lead... We'll continue praying for right focus - not below the line when things look tough but above it, at God's reality. | | |
| Drained- that's what many of us feel at the moment. Anniversary's coming up, spiritual warfare or not, appreciate if you pray for all of us involved in the anniversary. Here we are moving out there to proclaim God's wonder and...some of us have fallen ill, some of us have been exceptionally stressed out at home, some of us are trying to balance heavy secular work with God's work, some of us have taken comments personally, some of us will feel unappreciated, I'm sure, at the end of it all... Its a war out there. When I wrote the original script, I had visions, the feelings were almost overwhelming, swirling in my mind and heart. Our focus should not rest on what God has done for us but what He wants us to do - Step out, step up into the "blue unknown". By faith we trust that He will lead us and by faith we walk blindly. I've seen Angels in the back, always praying, lifting hands over us as we rush here, there, Let's take our cue. Let's lift our hands, all of us, to cover each other with prayer. For as Rinda says, God does not need us to look good, He already looks good. But we need Him SO what is the anniversary celebration all about?...Its about coming TOGETHER as one united Christian family to tell all and OURSELVES that He was, is and will be the one who draws us together and to Him. | | |
